METABOLIC PHENOTYPES EXPECTED FROM THE JAX MSNASH/PcoJ MODEL

Male MSNASH/PcoJ mice are models of metabolic syndrome and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).  Metabolic phenotypes developing between 6 and 26 weeks of age include: obesity, hyperglycemia, glucose intolerance, dyslipidemia, and steatosis.  A diet high in fat, fructose, and cholesterol leads to more pronounced NASH including elevated liver enzymes, liver inflammation, and fibrosis.
