CAR T-cell Cytotoxicity of Solid Tumors is Dependent on IFNγR Signaling & Downstream Adhesion

In this session, we take a look at the relative difference in the efficacies of CAR T therapies for solid and liquid tumors and the role of IFNγR signaling in mediating their responses. Leading the discussion is guest speaker, Dr. Rebecca Larson from Massachusetts General Hospital. In their recent Nature paper, Dr. Larson and colleagues found that deletion of IFNγR1, JAK1, or JAK2 in glioblastoma cell line model resulted in significant impairment of CAR T cell cytotoxicity. They go on to demonstrate that these members of the IFNγR signaling pathway play a critical role in the adhesion of CAR T cells to the targeted tumor cells.
