JAX Tech Talk Episode 59: Let’s Talk iPSCs and Their Value in Tackling Neurodegenerative Diseases (Sep. 20, 2022)

September 20, 2022 - Induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSCs) have become an invaluable tool for modeling neurodegenerative disorders and are increasingly used in drug discovery, toxicity testing, and clinical applications to treat human disease. In collaboration with the NIH Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, JAX has developed a collection of human isogenic iPSC lines containing variants linked to Alzheimer’s and related dementias (ADRD). In this session, Dr. Mark Cookson, senior investigator at the NIH National Institute on Aging, talks about the unique aspects of this collection and how it can benefit the wider scientific community in their shared quest to understand and fight ADRD.
