Guide to Choosing the Right Cancer Research Model

A critical determinant of translational success in oncology research, particularly biologics and next-generation immunotherapies, remains robust preclinical modeling. This webinar will provide a comprehensive, scientifically grounded overview of the diverse oncology model platforms available from The Jackson Laboratory, including GEMMs, cancer-prone strains, and xenograft strategies (with and without immune humanization).

By using examples from the literature and from JAX’s Preclinical Oncology Services, we will outline the experimental design considerations for pharmacodynamics, target engagement, efficacy, and safety assessment across model types, and frameworks for employing preclinical models to support derisking strategies and data driven go/no-go decision making. Finally, we will walk through the Mouse Models of Human Cancer Database (MMHCDb), so searching for the right model is at your fingertips.
